Everyone book your room early for the only event that compares to our Birthday Bash. This is a don't miss event that I love to attend every year. The prices for the rooms are well worth it as each one is a suite. They have the one bedroom or the room with a pull out sofa that is larger and can fit more than a couple. The resort is wonderful with the beautiful pool with waterfall and jacuzzi. There is a restaurant on the premises. They go out of their way to fit everyone but if you don't get in you have a chance of not being able to stay at the resort.

Let's have a large turn-out of Tampa club members just as we do every year.

We're all booked (thanks to the Duffys).... hopefully our kids will be up North with grandparents as well.  I sure hope the weather is better this year, it was so rainy and miserable we were forced to drink heavily all weekend and didn't do much riding.....  Grin

Hello everyone.

I just moved from Connecticut to Riverview Florida.  I always wanted a Jet Ski and I finally bought one last weekend!   Can anyone tell me a little more about the Lover’s key summer ski fest.  What types of events are available?  Does this event require a lot of riding experience?

Is anyone going to be riding anytime soon?  I would love to meet new people in the area and ride.  I can also use some guidance and pointers since it is my first ski.  Just backing up my truck with the ski it’s a huge task at the moment.

Thanks

Lover's Key is a get together that requires mostly social skills and the ability to ride with a group. The event itself is a weekend stay at a beautiful resort with as many jetski people as you can stand. There aren't really many planned events but they do plan a few rides usually 2 per day at least. We usually arrive Friday and stay until Sunday but you can get discounted rates for staying either Thursday or Sunday nights. There is usually a banquet on Saturday night and some vendors show up for Saturday afternoon. Mostly it is a time to relax and just enjoy people with a common interest, DRINKING  Grin. Just Kidding, there is a couple of people that don't drink. We just make sure that all of the riding is done before we start the drinking part.

You should have the group riding experience by then if you meet up with us a few times. I am sure that we will all be riding soon. I plan on riding hopefully next weekend. As far as backing your trailer up, you need to practice in an open parking lot and get used to it so you don't feel so uncomfortable at the ramp. Congratulations on the move, you sure picked a great year to get the heck out of there.

Is there anyone who would like to share a room?  My wife will not join me, and it is just too expensive to book a room by myself.

Thanks Mirror for getting back to me so fast.  I'm in; I will be reserving a room tomorrow.  I can’t wait!

I’m so glad that I’m out of Connecticut; this was one of the coldest winters they ever had.   Grin

I was reading the magazine’s article for the Suwannee River, wow!! That looked so nice; I’m defiantly going to try not to miss the next one.

About sharing a room....  I definitely am open to sharing a room.   I had mentioned to Jay and Jackie that I would also like to share a room, but that is still up in the air.  I didn't stay there last year and don't know the room arrangements  --- I definitely would like to share the expense.  I am coming alone this year.

Are there any special rates for our group at Lovers Key?  I might have missed this...    Undecided

The rooms are kinda expensive, I think they are around $160 a night or so.  That IS the group rate... just call and tell them you are with the Ski Fest and they'll hook you up.  Can't do it online that I know of, gotta call.

Dan & Lyn "Seadooman" are registered.  We will arrive Friday morning and leave Sunday afternoon.  This will be our 3rd year.  We really enjoy Lover's Key and the chance to get together with all of our friends.

See you there!!!!

Well, my wife and I are all booked for the weekend.  Made plane reservations to send our 2 boys to Kansas City for a week and now we just have to find someone to watch our little girl for the weekend.  We are looking forward to participating this year.
